How online learning works
Every lesson is live with a tutor. Here is how you start, what happens in a lesson, and how you keep improving between lessons.

Your lessons
Live, personal and planned around your goal.
Live on Google Meet
Every lesson is live with a tutor. A standard lesson is 30 minutes, and longer lessons can be arranged.
Twice a week
The standard is two lessons a week. Three or more can be arranged, at times that fit your time zone.
All year round
Lessons run all year, including school holidays. Some students join just for the holidays.
Make-up lessons
If you miss a lesson, tell your tutor and a make-up lesson can be arranged.
Between lessons
- Materials and assignments are shared in Google Classroom
- Your tutor sets a short daily practice
- Your tutor gives feedback on what you submit
- Parents receive a progress report each month
What you need
- Your instrument (talk to us before you buy your first one)
- A device with a camera and microphone
- A steady internet connection
- A quiet space where your tutor can see your hands
Your child’s lessons, safely online
Children can start from about age 4. We also teach children with special educational needs, including children with autism, in a calm and supportive setting.
Lessons are recorded only where a parent has given consent, and only for quality assurance. If you decline, the lesson is not recorded.
When you are ready
Exams are optional. We prepare students for ABRSM, Trinity, Rockschool and MUSON exams. We hold online performances, and help students find chances to perform near them.
